Bible Copyright & Permissions
Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
SynchedWord displays Scripture from several translations. Some are in the public domain; others are copyrighted works used under licence from their publishers. This page lists every translation available in the app together with the notice its rights-holder requires.
Translations available in this app
This list is generated from the app's own configuration, so it always matches what is actually installed.
How we handle licensed text
- Public-domain translations (such as the World English Bible, King James Version and American Standard Version) may be stored, cached, read offline, and included in anything you export.
- Licensed translations are retrieved from the rights-cleared provider only when a passage is actually being read. A passage once fetched is kept on our server for at most 14 days, as the provider's terms allow, so a whole congregation reading it counts as one request; it is never copied into our backups, your saved notes or your exports.
- When you export a service, you can choose references only — the book, chapter and verse alongside your own notes, with no Scripture text at all. This is the safest option to share freely, and it is the only option offered for licensed translations.
Your notes are yours
Nothing on this page affects what you write. The notes you take are your own words and your own property — the terms here govern only the Scripture text supplied by publishers.
Requests and corrections
If you are a rights-holder and believe a translation is presented incorrectly, or a required notice is missing or wrong, please contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will correct it promptly. If a publisher asks us to remove a translation, we will remove it.
